The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid has sent a message of felicitations to His Excellency Wang Yi, State Counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, on the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival and New Year 2021.
Minister Shahid’s message read as follows:
“I take this opportunity to extend warm felicitations and best wishes to Your Excellency, the Government, and the friendly people of the People’s Republic of China, on the joyful occasion of the celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival and the New Year of Ox.
The Chinese Spring Festival has always been a special occasion. It symbolises the arrival of Spring, the strengthening of bonds and enhancement of family, social and community relations. On this special occasion, allow me to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the close cooperation and continued support extended by the Government and the friendly people of China to the Maldives. I am confident that the close ties of friendship and partnership between our two countries will prosper during the auspicious Year of Ox, and strengthen further in the years to come.
I look forward to closely working with you towards further consolidating our growing relations to a greater abundance, prosperity and success.
