The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in China was established on 20 August 2007. The Maldivian National Flag was hoisted at the Embassy for the first time by the Head of Mission, Mr. Ahmed Latheef on Friday, 31 August 2007.
His Excellency Mr. Latheef presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China on 3 April 2008. He left China upon completion of his tenure of office on March 2012.
On 17 January 2013, His Excellency Mr Mohamed Rasheed, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China.
On 14 October 2014, His Excellency Mr Mohamed Faisal, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Shi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.
On ……. 2019, President of Maldives His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Her Excellency Aishath Azeema as the new Ambassador of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China
