The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid sends a message of felicitations to His Excellency Wang Yi, State Councilor and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
It is my pleasure to extend sincere greetings and warm felicitations to Your Excellency, the Government and the friendly people of China, on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Maldives has been fortunate to count amongst its close friends, the Government of the People’s Republic of China. As you celebrate the 71st Anniversary of the Proclamation of the People’s Republic of China, we applaud the giant leaps taken by the Chinese Government and the people of China towards the betterment of humanity, and for the well-being, progress and prosperity of the rest of the world.
The Maldives will continue to undertake every effort, to further strengthen and enhance its bilateral relationship which is based on historic bonds of friendship, mutual respect for territorial integrity, and the Maldives’ full commitment to the One-China Policy. Under the extraordinary circumstances faced by the global community due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we very much appreciate the leadership role taken by the People’s Republic of China, especially in the area of public health. China’s support for multilateralism, and the international bodies that govern it, stands to further solidify the international community’s collective pursuit of common interests.
On this auspicious occasion, allow me to convey to Your Excellency once again, the appreciation of the Government of Maldives and its people, for the continued support and generous assistance extended to the Maldives.
